METALS INDUSTRY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTER an agency ofthe Department of Science and Technology, is the sole government entity directly supporting the metals and engineering industry which is the backbone of the economy. With the services designed to enhance the M&E industries' competitive advantage, the MIRDC has an essential role in developing our country's economy by establishing strategic Research and Development alliances with both public and private sectors to address pressing national problems and to promote technology-based solutions such as industrial technical upgrades and strategic investments. The MIRDC, in the pursuit of its mandate, sets the path toward higher added value and innovation-oriented development ofthe local M&E industries.
